  1. He need to see a therapist as his behavior is abnormal to say the least.

  2. Try Sunrise Manor in Henderson, my aunt was there. She went from their ALF side to memory care; they work well with hospice also

  3. B12 mixed with semaglutide if you’re using a compound pharmacy.

  4. I’ve seen this in friends where food was a main source of comfort or hobby

  5. That would be my guess….I experienced a couple existential weeks where when food wasn’t solving my issues I panicked a bit haha.

  6. LOL. My friend cooked for her husband 5x/week for years. Since Ozempic, she has lost interest in cooking and food isn’t this SUPER-EXCITING thing that it was for her prior.

  7. I work in hospice. 2 years ago I made a lateral move because my caseload became too high and I got a $12000 salary increase. When I told my RN friend who was working hospice with me she said “if you are making that much then I need to be making more” as I now had the same salary as her. She has her associates degree and a license, I have a masters degree and a license but she did not feel like we should have the same pay. I’ve worked in healthcare for 8 years now and social workers are under appreciated

  8. Ok but in all honesty, nursing is a way dirtier job. They have to deal with people’s mental health and on top of that wipe dirty bums. I’m getting into the psychology field myself and my wife, who is a nurse 100% deserves higher pay then what I will receive. I could never do her job, I can however do this job.

  9. Idk why you were being downvoted. This sub has some real hatred for nurses, it’s weird. I am a former SW of 10+ yrs who went back to school for nursing because the pay was better. And my job as a nurse is way harder than when I was a SW. Both jobs are hard, and SWers definitely deserve more pay and appreciation, but I have people’s lives in my hands and could kill someone if I make a med error. I have to deal with blood and bodily fluids on a daily basis. I see people die every day. And I have to work holidays/weekends/overnights. I also have to wipe asses and clean up huge messes of shit, urine, and vomit. Yes, nurses do that too. Not just CNAs. Plus, I also get psych and dementia patients who are super combative and hit me. People on this sub don’t have the slightest clue what nurses deal with lol.

  10. I work on a dedicated palliative floor so if you want to chat more DM me! I honestly love it, it can be super hard some days but I truly feel like I’ve found my niche in nursing. There’s something special about being able to help people have the best quality of life for however much time they have left and help patients have a good death. Some of the deaths can be really difficult (either because the patients really young, they were on our unit for a very long time, or because it was a very quick decline) but the staff on our unit have a huge impact on making those deaths more manageable and I also have a therapist who helps me work through those emotions and I’ve developed little routines and rituals I do for my patients who have passed to help me to let go.

  11. I’m currently a hospice nurse with less than a year of experience. I’m thinking about applying to a palliative nurse position in a hospital as I want to be better well-rounded and I’ll be on the floor with other nurses compared to flying solo in homes.

  12. Did I write this?? I feel the same way. I haven’t come up with an answer yet, unfortunately. But I’m right there with you, friend.

  13. Yeah, say your a full time student taking out loans, the end.

  14. Being early to absolutely everything and having anxiety when my wife makes me late to shit…

  15. Why did she want to quit her job in the first place?

  16. There is usually a “why”, an underlying reason why she wants to change to a traditional wife all of a sudden.

  17. I always find it funny that people are weirded out that someone died at home when it pretty common in America.

  18. Hospice is available 24/7 where your wife’s current physicians may not be. If your wife had pain at 3am that isn’t managed will you wait to contact the physician when the office opens, is the physician ready to write medications orders in a moments notice? You know who can, Hospice.

  19. You could try CBT therapy as you have placed food psychologically in a place mentally where it doesn’t belong.

  20. If you find a woman that cares about you as much as you care about her, the CPAP won’t matter.

  21. Sometimes I’m sitting there writing my note afterwards and question if I truly did everything possible to rule out the 1% chance this case was more serious than the eye/history/exam let on.  Sometimes I give them a call and change the treatment plan, sometimes I leave it alone.  If I had less patients daily, it would happen less.  But then I wouldn’t see as many people daily, and who knows if the other providers would have done anything differently.  I don’t know, maybe just anxiety. But I think it does help me to provide better care.

  22. Sounds like you are describing cheyne stokes respirations which is completely natural during the dying process. Time frame can vary from person to person. Hang in there, I know it can be emotionally draining.

  23. I do recognize the exhaustion and the strain politics puts on the field of social work, but politics are why you should stay in the field. Social workers are part of social justice.

  24. Thank you! I'm concerned that social work education doesn't focus on this more and that there are people surprised by this or taken aback.

  25. I hear ya. I feel like a lot of academics don’t focus on real-world issues that we eventually face at our jobs.

  26. Go to sick call. Get the work up sheets. If anything is wrong with you E.G. Tinnitus , shin splints, fallen arches, snoring. Get it documented before you out process. It can be used as evidence later if you need to file a VA claim.

  27. Not inappropriate at all. I know we are told about boundaries, but if you were an integral part of that patient’s care, it would be a great show of respect

  28. Not to be rude but why go back after you just got forgiven to accrue the same if not more the amount of debt again unless she or her employer is paying for it.
