  1. Even the "truth" is so dumb. If she stole a card, why lie about it initially, and then tell the truth soon after? Being quick to say "oh my god I picked it up, I thought it was mine" is so much more plausible than this clusterfuck.

  2. The current Lloyds card has the chip on the front and absolutely no identifying information, so I can genuinely understanding casually mixing up two cards.

  3. Either as a thief and as an honest fool, this story has a daft main character.

  4. This is a relatively recent strategy I've seen by anti trans folks. Claim that gender affirming care lacks "strong evidence" (<

  5. Why do I get the feeling that this post received a ton of downvotes for simply linking a game bundle because the bundle is called Palestinian Relief?

  6. Yes, and also, lots of gay content, and no Steam keys. Bit of a shame the sub is struggling to give visibility when there's plenty of very playable games here.

  7. There are some interesting ones, but it looks like most are table top RPGs.

  8. 241 video games, 270 things are paid, not sure what the intersection is but it's alright. I've had great success with the past mega bundles just picking a few quirky things that suit my interests. Some very interesting things in there, and more importantly, the bundle is directly supporting charity with your cash so it's easy to not treat it as part of your gaming expenditures.

  9. I’ve done that. The delivery photo even showed a neighbours door mat not mine. So when I found my parcel at their house (they were not home or aware). I told them it never arrived. So now I have 2 USB chargers. Fuck them. They have insurance or the company I ordered from learn a valuable lesson about using shit courier companies.

  10. Our company has swapped couriers twice, so three different experiences of supporting customers. The secret? All couriers are shit. Because it's a poorly paying job that always rushes employees to hit better margins, no matter what company you're talking about. The usual capitalist shareholder problem.

  11. I just pulled apart my tumbler and am planning to clean all the dust off.

  12. I use a big soft paint brush. Don't need to disassemble, just do it reasonably regularly.

  13. Wow for how expensive that set is too, Lego is seriously expensive these days.

  14. For a while it was £125 from Game UK inc tax, which I think is what the rrp should always have been.

  15. https://itch.io/jam/palestine-bundle/entries

  16. Anybody got a link for that script that auto claims all the games?

  17. Would not recommend, Itch is better set up for browsing a smaller library of stuff you actually take an interest in. Does not have a nice quick list for your library etc.

  18. Not sure of this is true in the UK too but in Ireland Freddos are one of the only Cadburys products that are still made by the old chocolate recipe from pre US takeover. Check the label & if it says made in Ireland it should still have the old superior flavour.

  19. Genuinely, munching through easter eggs the past month, the Cadbury ones are kind of addictive but taste dreadful. The Mars ones (Galaxy, Maltesers etc) are way better. Shocking that Mars was always an American company; I guess they just aren't as crap as Kraft.

  20. They have a web form where I am. It's open the following times:

  21. Good, wouldn't want any ill people to stop by on Tues or Thurs.

  22. Holy shit, that was on steep discount in my FLGS for a while to clear it. I passed up because it wasn't the right time for me to get a big war game.

  23. I got mine in Feb for $18, I love LEGO but I'm not paying $350 for a set off ebay. LEGO is missing the boat on these retired popular sets.

  24. Lego likes the idea that their sets can inflate, so some people buy just to keep sealed and "invest". Selling extra copies without extra advertising, that's a strategy.

  25. Good effort. You could do the eye reflections with carefully cut electrical tape.

  26. I imagine people have written academic essays on that very topic but I can sum it up that Mike Scully took over as showrunner in season 9, and then Al Jean took over in season 13 who remains showrunner today. Their leadership each created a shift in tone.

  27. The most surprising thing is there was nearly complete turnover earlier too, like 1-4 and 5-8 are hugely different staffs. The shock of The Simpsons is it survived one turnover while remaining the peak of television quality.

  28. I feel like from season 11 to the movie was a gradual decline in quality.

  29. The last few seasons have some watchable episodes. But that's it, really, nothing has the magic touch any more.

  30. People's lives are messy and they shouldn't face negative consequences for normal behavior, even if it's careless just because of that.

  31. While true, there's a very annoying culture of telling people "it's just a piece of paper". Which, it is, and it's also legally meaningful and useful. I would like to spread the blame to everyone who parrots this.

  32. So in the 2000’s this man who was almost 60 years old married a 15(ish) year old who had his baby when she was around 13. And her family never got this man arrested, or at least a restraining order? Gosh that’s sad.

  33. This whole thread is genuinely one of the most distressing I've seen in 2024.

  34. That answers it for me, I got tumbler Batman as a prize. Not generally a fig (or Star Wars etc) collector so that's probably it.

  35. Or, when you've watched every episode and your kid wants to rewatch it, but the app has nuked it from existence.

  36. This is such an awful problem for us - his Disney content is set to Hungarian (like his mum), while we live in the UK. One month, they just nuked the everloving fuck out of the library - literally the only animated canon film left is Winnie the Pooh. I guess they had a fight with the dubbing company, and so we consumers can go suck eggs after paying for a full year.

  37. You're definitely going to need to demonstrate why people should play this over A Short Hike. Still, other games have had success by apeing it, so don't feel like this is a reason to stop.

  38. Well I think it's not meant to be a replacement for A Short Hike. The only reason I'm making this game is because I feel like the gameplay A Short Hike offers has so much possibility to be expanded on and be put in a different context.

  39. True, if you could show multiple players in the first 5 seconds of your trailer you could do very well.

  40. also im not sure you want one of the richest person in the world as your personal enemy. i guess the strat is to take a relatively small amount so its not worth it for them to go after you. would jeff bezo send hitmen after me over 1 million dollars?

  41. Jeff Bezos would send hitmen after you for $4.

  42. Release today without the "Toys-to-life" feature requiring you to swap out the figures to swap characters and I think it would sell a lot better. The way they did it made it so that there could be far fewer playable characters and it was more expensive to unlock new content. They should have just sold sets alongside it based on the game.

  43. I think you're right. Toys To Life is a whales-only strategy, as anyone spending less than three figures on your game feels left out. But recently, Lego have proven that people will absolutely put down three figures for one-off licensed sets a la Dune, Stranger Things etc.

  44. Input lag is something thats not spoken about in this sub enough. I was playing Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow on my Android modded Switch OLED via Drastic emulator. I had no issues with playing the game at all. However I recently bought a DSi and tried the same game on it. And the difference felt very apparent immediately. Castlevania just felt much more snappier on the DSi, like I can jump and change direction mid jump 3 times. Where as on Drastic on Android when jumping I couldn't do it as good. Just the overall control of the character felt slightly delayed and more sluggish. This is only apparent mainly when you compare directly. It's led me to believe it's the Drastic emulator because games on Retroarch the input lag isn't this bad especially with run ahead. Another thing is it's definitely not got to do with controller lag as Joycons are connected directly rather than Bluetooth.

  45. Yep, I tried Elite Beat Agents (a game I've beaten before) on phone recently and couldn't get the notes timing quite right. Popped it onto the 3DS and full cleared the first song.

  46. Kingdom Builder is medieval and point salad. Delicious.

  47. A small, onsite coffee shop is probably selling what? 300 cups a day maybe? Even if those are all the "most expensive" coffee at £3.50, that's ~£1k/day revenue.

  48. I agree that this is the profit margin of the whole shop, but the difference between selling 300 and 301 cups is about £3.
