  1. I am a chef myself and I can confirm the situation is very dire . Like the article said , people that were going out couple times a week are just coming once . I talk to other chefs from the industry and it’s same everywhere . Bit ok around chapel st and other places with young crowds but suburbs are bad . Never seen anything like this , we were busier during covid once people settled in the lock down . Dunno what to do , depressing .

  2. Cost of living is smashing most of us. Rent or mortgage increases, shrinkflation at the supermarkets, lagging pay increases and many workplaces insisting on being back in the office so a return to pre-covid commute costs… unfortunately dining out is one of the first things to go.

  3. Can we stop calling it a cost of living crisis and call it what it is. Corporate greed and the accelerated growth of the ultra rich.

  4. I mean, I’m close to crisis because it’s costing me a lot just to live right now, so yeah. Well aware it’s not a passive state of affairs though.

  5. Some of us were raised by Catholic grandmothers who taught us that if you don’t say bless you when someone sneezes then the devil can get their soul. I’m in my 40s now, a proper atheist and grandma is long gone but i still have to say bless you after every sneeze I hear. Yes, even if you sneeze 17 times. I’m not going to be responsible for the devil getting you!

  6. just had a banh mi from phuoc tranh in richmond just now, and legit is one of the best things i've ever had in my mouth

  7. I love food but for the life of me cannot eat breakfast. If it’s at 1pm on a weekend, sure, but first thing in the morning - you could have slaved for hours and I still won’t be hungry. This is just the way he is. You’re the one getting offended by it. Just stop packing lunches.

  8. Dude drives like he’s lived life. Never having to worry about anything or anyone but himself because he knows Daddy Stroll will take care of everything.

  9. I mean, he did push his trainer when he had a shit time in Bahrain (?) last year. As if it was that guys fault.

  10. A lot of places it goes through servers or the bar, who are tipped wage employees.

  11. Yeah but it’s 20 seconds of work - handed from the kitchen to the front to the customer. Why would you tip for that?

  12. Reminds me of a lady in Vietnam who was recently sentenced to death for fraud worth billions of dollars.

  13. Set up businesses that give jobs to homeless people. Create tiny home communities where they can have an address and amenities. Fund scholarships. Set up conferences to include excluded voices. There’s so much that can be done - if money would facilitate it.

  14. How did Ferrari go from sacrificing some qualy performance for the race today (confirmed in post qualy interviews), to then not even be on pace in the race? Looked rather mediocre today. At least it was a consistent race but both drivers want to be on the podium, and this wasn't it.

  15. Stroll was doing okay before the safety car. And then he just shit the bed.

  16. I might be getting old but miami GP at 10pm on a sunday is gonna be tough

  17. Can we all admit that Michael Masi was better at calling safety cars the Neils Wittich is?

  18. So Lando keeps his nickname then. He starts well when he is not in front. Seems like he cracked under pressure.

  19. Well I think he just embellishes his praise a little because he wants to throw digs. I loved Nico as a commentator today, but he was for sure covering for his earlier dig of Hamilton a little when he saw Lewis was driving out of his mind the first 8 laps. He will praise Lewis when it’s justified, but you can just hear the smirk on the face when he gets his criticism in.

  20. I could hear the smile on his face the whole time and I feel that was something almost new for Nico. I recall him being quite negative during the Covid era commentary.

  21. I remember around 2000 I had an idea for a car service that would pick you up from the bar if you had to much to drink, I was trying to think of a way to get there car back home as well and every time I kept thinking about different scenarios, I gave up because I decided it was stupid and nobody would use a service like that

  22. This actually exists in Western Australia. They bring two people in one car. One guy drives you home in your own car while the other guy follows in their car.

  23. Sometimes my brain opens up creatively when I get high and though I don't really write, I often get ideas for stories that I'll jot down in a notepad app with the thought of "I'll write it someday!" (yeah right) And sometimes I'll go back and look at some of the things I've written down and it's like yeesh, nobody would ever wanna read this junk.

  24. It’s not true. There were quite a few instances when Rosberg praised Hamilton and I’ll admit that it was surprising to hear

  25. He actually seemed quite excited for Lewis at the start of the sprint

  26. We have a Nico Rosberg grid walk? :D

  27. I did enjoy his commentary during sprint qualifying though, and I don’t normally.

  28. Yes. Let me spell it out further: Your husband sucks for the way he handled his divorce and situation. He sucks for wanting you to give back your FD. You just completely suck for the way you view this situation and the way you started up with a man at the end of a messy divorce and expected everything to be fine. Then to bring another life into this absolute disaster you created with your new man is deplorable by both of you.

  29. A rubber glove. Then you could poke holes in the fingers and suck it out like an udder.

  30. Haha. I mean just cup it in yours hands and walk it into work I guess.

  31. Yeah, things like 'The dumbest shit you could ever think Americans would think was going to work'

  32. As someone who grew up in the country side of Europe I call it extra protein. Seriously I ate tons of cherry infested maggots and I don't regret it one bit :)

  33. This happened to my Mum in Milan, and despite how beautiful the rest of the city was she’s still like “Eugh, Milan, with the maggots in the orange juice”any time she hears the name.

  34. That was my thoughts too. Ive already agreed to an increase as per our standing agreement, and happy to negotiate once the lease expires next year.

  35. Email Tenants Victoria. They will call you back when they can. It took about 3 days for me to get my call back.
