  1. I'll add my depression copypasta below. But a few thoughts on your current stack:

  2. I think the cherry on top here would be some pre and probiotics. Like adding legit sauerkraut to your diet. Some good yogurt. Lots of fresh veggies and fruit. Just maintain the gut health in general!

  3. My kids were able to speak in sentences on their 1st birthdays. ?? At 18 months of age, they’ve been doing lots of observing and learning!

  4. Ummm that’s very not normal though. The empathy thing at 18 months I’ve witnessed but speaking in sentences on first birthday is rare

  5. Yes, I agree. I definitely will start investing in ETFs/Mutual Funds tracking the S&P 500. I’m just not 100% sure whether to wait until I have a Roth IRA or to just start investing through my regular brokerage account. I also have always had the thought in the back of my mind of starting a business that might require some capital, so I’m a bit hesitant to lock most of it away in investments.

  6. OP, I agree with this advice except for the avoiding crypto part. Never put all your eggs in one basket. Even if the S&P is technically already multiple “baskets”. at your age and situation, you can take those types of “risks” like btc and ETH and would probably feel really silly ten years from now if you didn’t. Theres a lot of advice on the general finance subs that are very conservative or a little behind the times. It’s ok to have a little skin in the game

  7. What do you think your personal notions of what is weird means to anyone else? Your perceptions are your own problem. Many would find them to be weird. So now what is your point?

  8. Why is their opinion more valid than mine? Maybe someone appreciates me adding my two cents so that they don’t feel like “oh no I haven’t even been meditating this whole time since my goal was enlightenment.” The commenters statement was pretty objectively wrong. Even Buddha had a goal

  9. I think you’re trolling at this point. Idk. Love and blessings to you

  10. I really am Dan! That’s my name. And I had a notification for this post since it was trending, and I was very confused when I read just the title.

  11. The other day I came out of a Walgreens to find my car door wide open. At first I was nervous and confused until I realized I was the one who left it open. Apparently I just hopped out and went inside like a fucking weirdo.

  12. This is why I struggle when people say that adults are too involved with kids and should just let them to sort things out on their own. I get that, but also, kids are AHs (I don't really mean that, but you know what I mean). They need to be taught social skills. Maybe if we taught kids how to be kind and negotiate and tolerate each other, we wouldn't have all these AH adults? Also, we need to be realistic about what we are asking kids to do when we force them to spend hours and hours every day with people they don't really get along with. So adults need to do that? I have definitely not liked some people I worked with but I didn't have to sit in the same room with them all day.

  13. Yeah.. I have a distinct memory of going outside where a bunch of my cousins and some neighborhood friends were running around playing something. I asked my cousin, hey what are you playing? And she straight up said “none of your beeswax!” And ran off. It was super hurtful. I was about 7 at the time and all those kids were my age or a little older. I did not understand why I wasn’t included, or why she was so harsh about it. This was just one incident, and I swear it gave me social anxiety for life. I don’t think I ever had the courage to go up to someone like that ever again. MAYBE if a parent had heard what happened or listened to me, they could have reassured me that she was just being nasty. That I wasn’t the problem. That it had nothing to do with me and I probably could have asked a different kid and been included in the game. Or maybe she could have gotten in trouble for acting that way. And I would see that and understand that I was not a freak or whatever. Maybe if an adult stood up for me and encouraged the other kids to let me play, it would have blown over and been forgotten. But none of that happened. I was left to assume the worst. I remember writing in my diary that day “I hate (cousins name)” in big capital letters. Anyways- all that to say I agree with you. Adults should be guiding children. Sorting stuff out on their own doesn’t make much sense. They’re still learning and they don’t know how to sort that shit out yet. It’s our job to teach them.

  14. The fire was always lit. My grandparents had wood fired water heater, it only went out if they were on holiday. Plenty of people who use wood burning ranges will light them in October and not let them go out until March or April. They weren’t sitting around much, home life was much more labour intensive.

  15. People also used to place a brick on top of their stove and then bring it to bed with them! I did this camping once. Wrapped it in a towel and Tucked it into the bottom of my sleeping bag. Toasty!

  16. I got downvoted, not a scammer, but I know it is something to worry about. I use AltoIRA, it is a roth, I can withdraw my the contributions I make back out tax free for a home or what not. You call can look for yourself. Had mine since 2022.

  17. Yes! All Roth let you take out your contributions just not gains

  18. There is State Tax, county tax, local tax and property tax, Sales tax, income tax, capital gains tax, gas tax, alcohol tax, tobacco tax, and did the sugar tax go through?

  19. What? Not for everyone. I have state and federal income tax. I don’t have county tax or local tax, and I think that’s the rule not the exception. Dont smoke or drink alcohol or eat sugar! Thats just doing you a favor. Capitol gains tax is just another form of income tax, but a little more forgiving. Anyways, I rather like my roads and fire dept, and good schools.

  20. I agree, I wish my federal tax was less and my local tax was more.

  21. You need therapy and I’m not trying to be rude. Meditation ain’t gonna make you stop angry farting.

  22. Yeah I was going to say… “I’m really a nice peaceful proper lady”… ummm no you’re not. OP needs to realize if all the people around her are “idiots” then she’s the common denominator. It’s easy to be “nice” when you’re alone. OP sounds delusional. I like how “other people” are fucking up her enlightenment.

  23. Yea, or like your 50 year old niece… or you’re besties with your sister’s grandkid or something.

  24. Yeah imagine when this baby has a kid, say at 35. When that kid is 13, it will have an aunt that is (or would be) 100 years old. Not great aunt, just an aunt

  25. You joke but had an ex ask for an old T-shirt for exactly this reason. And we ended up always having an old T-shirt near the bed. We picked old, worn out shirts that I’d never wear again but they’re easier to wash and lying on one is a lot more comfortable than lying on a towel.

  26. There's a traditional bread in Portugal where they do the same thing. It's called folar and it's eaten during Easter.

  27. I was going to say, OP, this is normal, It’s Easter time! I didn’t realize it’s a Portuguese thing. There are a lot Portuguese people where I live so that makes sense

  28. If it makes you feel better, I think we’re turning a corner. I think we go through phases or something, and we’re coming up out of a collective depression. Fingers crossed. Maybe it’s just me

  29. This is kind of why you see people meditating sitting up with no back support. Hard to fall asleep like that.

  30. They are no longer visible in our reddit vaults since reddit stopped supporting them. You need to enter your keys in a hot wallet like metamask to be able to trade them.

  31. I use old reddit version and i can see them right after your name, you have 7k. You can also check them in the ccmoons site:

  32. It’s important to remember that we’re in the customer service business. Clients and realtors are kind and trusting enough to invite us into their homes. We need to build good relationships with our clients to maintain them for a long time, so that means putting up with their bullshit sometimes. They are paying for the photos, they want the best photos possible. Take the extra minute and do the right thing, make everybody happy.

  33. Yeah this is weird. Maybe they think they ARE out of the way. They’re both outside and probably can’t even see the photographer. If you’re too afraid to direct your clients to where they need to be.. (out of the shot), then maybe you shouldn’t be a photographer

  34. Were the researchers & photographers completely ignorant of the effect of lighting, contrast, and placement in establishing the visual appeal of food?

  35. Yeah this is junk. Might as well compare amateur photos of food with professional photos and you would get the same result

  36. I feel like "environmental exposure to things like pesticides and heavy metals" is the important part here...not whatever activities they've mentioned. And what about people working around these things? I'd imagine their exposure would be far higher than those just partaking in recreational activities...?

  37. The only person I know to have developed ALS was a career set designer. Lots of wood working. Lots of spray painting. All sorts of stuff

  38. The logic is flawed. If this was truly comparable then las time it would be a celebration after we beat the previous ath, so like 22k or something. 66 was the ultimate ath, like the tippity top. 73 is just a little above it and we have a ways to go before we hit the new tippity top of this cycle.

  39. I have more new music in my life than I ever did in the 90s and my favorite bands are contemporary not nostalgic.

  40. It's an early symptom of hypothyroidism. I'd recommend getting blood work done.

  41. OP! Once I ate a lot of orange food. Not food dye, but real food like carrots and sweet potato. Just accidentally. And my hands looked orange! The beta carotene can show up in the skin when you eat a lot. Did you do that?

  42. No I don't agree here - a contributing factor in something like the internet getting invented is having the time to invent the internet without having to build your own house and run your own farm first.

  43. Why are you assuming it’s one person doing it? And why can’t this person or people have family and friends that help? I’m saying there’s a middle ground where not everyone has to have their own farm and sew their own clothes. That we can make some big changes and get back to economies that are more locally based
