  1. Color isn't real either. It's something our minds have associated to certain patterns to better navigate in spacetime.

  2. I’d argue our consciousness and experience is the only thing that we know is real and does exist and color is apart of that.

  3. In older editions it used to bounce off of walls.

  4. If the same spell would go through a creature when cast outside of it, I would wonder why would the insides then become wall like in how that spell interacts with the world when the only condition they changed is that the spell originating within that creature?

  5. People in the UK are having more success than ever growing grapes for wine.

  6. I feel ashamed for knowing this but 150mg of caffeine powder added to a coffee caffeine free substitute like Cafix is actually pretty okay.

  7. How much of the music you listen to doesn't come through a computer?

  8. Strange, I didn’t see any change l, they continued to look normal to me. Is this illusion supposed to effect everyone?

  9. You're an a-hole. Take your stupid creative writing BS somewhere else.

  10. Your brain became structured in the way it is and how it processes information due to a direct relationship with the body. I think this may stay in the realm of science fiction. Maybe if you grew a brain in an artificial body and it developed within it there’s some possibility of an existence that isn’t torturous.

  11. Long, looong way off anything like that. Also a long way off anything like this being used in Hollywood. The possibility of enormous lawsuits for using AI trained on copyrighted data is still too scary for the major production companies to touch any of this tech, at least for the time being.

  12. I think trying to see how the film industry fits into this is trying to force fit AI video into a different system. This should be looked at like a divergence from tv and film.

  13. I do wonder at what point in human evolution we stopped being able to eat meat. Other animals don't need to cook their food, why did it change for people.

  14. It is a stretch. Do you know how much more complicated what you're talking about is?

  15. https://deepmind.google/discover/blog/sima-generalist-ai-agent-for-3d-virtual-environments/

  16. That’s been proven false it just needs more sustainable consumption. But I get your point.

  17. Sure, in a world where we can ignore our human psychology, sustainable consumption can be the solution.

  18. This case has been going on for months  and you’re asking redditors to explain it to you now?

  19. Nobody is saying those things. People have already mentioned squatters forging a rental contract. If a landlord can easily deny the existence of an agreement and have squatters arrested the same follows through for doing so to tenants which out number squatters probably 10s of thousands to one,  who the laws are protecting.

  20. Seeing anyone also thinking what you did is funny being downvoted is some bull shit.

  21. I’m not sure any because AGI will not be stagnant and every sector or skill that shows a need of human labor will in short order be overwhelmed by people newly trained or lying about having those skills which will reduce the value of that skillset substantially.

  22. I seriously doubt that no one was knitting before these socks. It’s probably been around since the beginning of time somehow

  23. I find it wild that humans who were pretty much genetically identical to us today, go back 300-400 thousand years ago and most of our understanding of our past is the last 6000 years or so.

  24. This is what humans are doing, our inner monologue is essentially a "mental whiteboard" where we re-iterate and re assess our thoughts before deciding on action. If we have a lot of parameters we actually use a real white board to serve as an extension of our consciousnesses (every scientist has one).

  25. I’d argue that while we likely have them, we probably aren’t aware of any true inner monologues.

  26. ADHD diagnosis...  When I was 20 (15 years ago) I experienced something I really can’t explain. It was summer and I was at my parents when I was up late playing a game on my computer with headphones. I turned the computer off and was then standing in the dark with only a fan on. I wanted to pee before going to bed and found my door wasn’t fully latched shut so all I needed to do was push it open, which was pretty quiet. That’s when I heard something really fucking weird at the end of the hall.

  27. I’m surprised because suddenly Trump doesn’t want TikTok banned

  28. I’d put money down that they’re gonna use that when it pisses off the demographic of voters that use tick tok and don’t really care about what China does with the it, to paint Biden as the president who banned their favorite app.

  29. I've noticed that lots of Redditors seem to have an aversion to death.    Everyone dies eventually and eventually our whole species will pass out of the picture.

  30. Is it me or is the AI body language loaded with thinly veiled contempt? “Here’s your fucking basket, meat bag.”

  31. I sorta feel like I am watching, in real time, people creating a god they assume they can enslave.

  32. The robot also stuttered. Kinda odd unless that’s intentional.

  33. For those still working maybe. I don’t have high hopes the U.S. government figures out how to deal with the AI and robotic job replacement that’s coming, that is any where near an equitable solution, within the next 5 years.

  34. I dunno. These vote totals are insanely bipartisan. Methinks they've seen some really scary Intel about the data tracking. Getting everyone to agree in congress on this fast a track literally never happens.

  35. In an election year the issue is there are many users who do not care if China is spying or manipulating them and they don’t pay that close attention to politics or news but still vote. If the app is banned, these users will have an addictive rug pulled out from them and then it’s set up for a candidate that signed the ban into affect vs the one that can say they will bring it back, and that will sway a number of those votes.

  36. Seems to be the common issue skeptics miss with AI. In a few months we will see multiple competitors, then in a year or less we will see the second generation and it will have a 10 fold increase, if not more, in capabilities.
