  1. What is unchill about being excited for the future?

  2. OP is getting too ahead of himself by asking this question is what I mean. We literally have two shows under the animation banner, with one that just started airing.

  3. 🙄 OP isn’t ahead of himself he’s simply excited. It’s really not a big deal jeez

  4. Dude why are you so affected lmao OP is asking and I answered.

  5. Because there's no basis for this. They're just not friends irl. 'Mortal enemies' is just slander. The interview about this cites that they're polite and professional with each other, but don't spend time together away from the show.

  6. and whats your anecdotal experience supposed to add to the discussion? dont abort coz ‘reasons’? lol

  7. So sharing an experience is only valid if it aligns with your views? Both OP and the commenter pulled through with what they sought to accomplish and are quite satisfied with the results as hard as it was.

  8. While I disagree with this take and feel na may valid points talaga yung pagiging nonsensical ng some of the school rules, maybe students should focus more on what matters most when going to school, which is to learn. Lagapak yung comprehension at academic skills ng kabataan compared sa previous years.

  9. I played this scenario with this in my head repeatedly during the rumors of WWE being sold were in the news.

  10. Medyo meta-commentary, but The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari (where Shutter Island is inspired). Nasurprise ako na a 100+ year old silent movie had a twist ending.

  11. Just say that the Eternals timeline, Kang, etc. Were erased by the TVA / Loki.

  12. Andami kong nabasang comments na naghahanap ng ibang tao sa list. Do take note that the list is in dollars, meaning yung mga nasa list are the wealthiest of the bunch. Baka yung mga hinahanap nyo is billionaires in peso, which is no small feat din.

  13. Hadn't seen many other posts, sorry for oversaturating the sub then lol. I guess that just goes to show how damn good it is though.

  14. Agreed with this take. The investment in this anime is towards their relationship and their development as characters. Ichikawa is indeed not a self-insert. I relate to the character (especially when I was in high school) but instead of self-inserting, I'm actually learning a lot on how I should've dealt with anxiety way back. Some of the things we see as part of Ichikawa's growth, I can apply to myself right now to improve. It's literally the opposite of self-insert.

  15. Just wanna say as much as I love sensei in oregairu, I’d say she was never a viable option, hell even asides from the main girls, I’d say none of the other girls were viable. It was a Yui and Yukino game and if you didn’t see that in season 1 it is so palpable in season 2.

  16. I meant it in the context of the fandom, not the story. And throughout the anime, there were indeed several fanservice scenes sprinkled in towards H-man and other girls outside of the main triangle. Best girl Kawasaki is an example, as well as sensei. I'm not arguing the quality of the show, it's one of the best romcoms imo. But personally, Dangers has eclipsed Oregairu because the story is more focused on a single relationship and individual growth of both characters.

  19. It's not needed right now anyway. What they need is to focus on the major players that people actually care about, and find a way to sprinkle in these other characters organically so the casual audience can start recognizing and liking them. Not every character needs a movie or a show.

  20. My aunt had read the Lord of the Rings multiple times and was very excited when the ads were being aired on local TV. We watched a pirated VCD copy for the 1st and 2nd movie, until finally we had enough money to watch the RotK in theaters.

  21. There's Can't Buy Me Love, a show about a rich family (with dark secrets) and siblings competing to be the father's successor. It has the usual teleserye tropes though, and is still mainly a loveteam show.

  22. Then it's not like Succession. Sa labas lang. At it's heart it's a romcom

  23. Yeah I know. The similarities are as shallow as it gets, but as someone who doesn't really watch a lot of local media, it's the only one I remembered that is close, at least with the basic premise. Sobrang dalang ng seryosong shows dito.

  24. Wala na bang Home Radio or bulag lang ako?

  25. Like the comments on the actual thread have already said, this isn't an "either or" situation. Not to mention the demographic of this movie is kids = toys = more money.

  26. of course i didn't mean that they were still involved after their departure - not sure what you meant by this? i did read somewhere on the ATLAtv subreddit that a writer should contribute at least 30% of the script to be credited, which makes me believe that they had some say on these episodes.

  27. I meant it the same way with my Ant-Man example. You were implying that they have involvement due to the writing credits. I'm saying they pretty much don't since they left, bc if they continued with the project then this won't be the end result.

  28. we have no way of knowing if them staying in on the project would lead to a completely different, or an even better, end result. after all, it was bryke who was in charge when TLOK changed the lore around some of the bending and the origin of the avatar, i.e. Avatar Wan, changes which also weren't so well-received. all we know is that they're credited in eps 1 and 6 so perhaps they did write some parts of the scripts for those eps; otherwise, why not leave them out of the credits completely when they were not even credited for eps 2-5 and 7?

  29. You're probably right that we have no way to know if the product would have been better with them at the helm. Riordan led the PJO series and that turned out blander than this show. But it would be different, that's for sure. The creators were very forthcoming with what happened and why they left.

  30. I still want Shang Chi 2 to be called Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Iron Fist.

  31. The pandemic is ongoing. Covid cases were ramping up in the fall.

  32. Yeah maybe all the people who were excited to watch The Marvels got hit by COVID or got scared even after getting multiple shots. While all the others flocked to watch FNAF, which had a target demographic of kids.

  33. How is me saying I didn’t go because of my anxiety around Covid me saying the majority didn’t for the same reason? Let’s put our literacy caps on and read the part where I wrote in my main post “I can’t speak for everyone but I don’t go because of Covid”

  34. Because you framed the post around excusing The Marvels' poor box office numbers. You even had "the rest of us" in your post, implying that your experiences might be the same with others or they had other infinite excuses for not watching it in theaters except for the clear reason-they just didn't want to watch the movie.

  35. What the hell is wrong with this sub. Piracy is bad no matter how you sugar coat it. Even if it's for a good reason(which is my situation). But I don't deceive myself like there is nothing wrong with piracy..stop looking for validation, pirate what you want for whatever reason, just know that what you're doing is wrong and illegal.

  36. Ngl I'm only subbed here because of the occasional tips and tricks. The memes and discussions here almost always devolve into delusion that piracy is somehow morally right. Don't get me wrong, it helps a lot of people to enjoy things that they otherwise won't have the means to, but that doesn't mean it's not stealing. Imagine being this entitled to things you didn't even pay for.

  37. It's just so sad, constant light and Internet is a problem I'm my country, and since my country banned online international transaction since last year January I can't buy games online. Even if I could there is no stable light to download large games, which is where fitgirl comes into play. But I do not tell myself that I'm justified. Piracy is wrong and is a victimless crime, but it's still wrong and why a lot of people can't just get it through their heads is beyond me.

  38. That's the beauty of Piracy. You don't need an explanation on why you do it. No financial means, problems with where you live, convenience, just don't want to spend, etc it doesn't matter. But a lot of people here get so fucking sensitive with what others think of piracy that they develop this ultra-defensive take that somehow stealing is for the greater good. They get so butthurt when people buy, and take it upon themselves to ridicule those who actually support the things they pirate. It's so ridiculous.

  39. I watched Suzume yesterday, and while it was good, I couldn't buy the romance at all. Shinkai caught lightning in a bottle with Your Name.

  40. This movie is getting way too much hate. Love and thunder is the worst MCU movie (atleast for me). It set the bar way too low with all that cringe and out of place jokes that all the other MCU movie is already good for me.

  41. The hate is exaggerated, indifference is the correct term. Unfortunately, the only people who cared about this movie upon release are the vocal minority of internet incels. That's why people are just now realizing that it wasn't the worst film ever made, but it ain't good either.
