  1. Not a fan artist myself, but I'm pretty sure the cross on GoodTimesWithScar's face are scars, which make it an easy way to identify him. It's pretty much right on the nose.

  2. I think one challenge fan artists have is how to identify who the art is of, and also have the art in their own style. Having small "traits" like face wings, scars, a specific style of horns, etc that are common across the fandom provides a quick shorthand to let a viewer easily identify who is being depicted and can easily be incorporated into a variety of art styles. In Grian's case, small wings may be easier to incorporate than full wings while also letting someone quickly know it is Grian.

  3. Perhaps you're thinking of Rendog's Dead Dog Gulch from Season 7.

  4. For me, it was Ren's second run that stands out to me, when he forgot his frost walker boots and got stuck in the very first water trap.

  5. Yeah, Mumbo could still get some ghast spawns below the roof when he's running the farm, but that shouldn't be a big deal. There are special rules for ghasts that limit their spawning so they don't take up much of the mob cap, and they tend to wander away enough to despawn.

  6. Since every kelp block smelts 20 dried kelp, which can be crafted into 2 kelp blocks with a bit left over, the output of kelp blocks first goes to the fuel input for the kelp smelting, then to the cactus smelting. At first, the kelp smelting will collect all the kelp blocks, but once it gets full, 1 kelp block will be caught by the kelp smelting fuel input while the remaining 1+ blocks will go on to the cactus smelting.

  7. ohhh Okay I see I see! How does one make sure it gets to filling the first furnaces first? Minecart hopper? or?

  8. Unfortunately, I don't remember off the top of my head how Impulse did it, but any way to move items around will work.

  9. You'd probably have better luck asking on one of the subreddits dedicated towards more technical minecraft. But as best as I can recall, when attempting to place water in the nether, the game doesn't place the water and then remove it on a block update, it simply never actually places the water at all. Update suppression needs an update to be suppressed, generally by causing a java exception to happen before the update is processed. Since there is no update in this case, I don't think it applies. However, this is getting really into the weeds of the underlying code, and I could easily be wrong about this.

  10. Nope, he explained it somewhere, but idk in which episode. Those are i think sticks or pumpkins. He used the retexture thingie. It signifies that he doesn't have that item yet.

  11. Xisuma talks about it in this video, starting at 6:56.

  12. Finding all the times Joehills has impressions of other Hermits as he reads books or other things in their voice is a bit job, so instead here's a recent video of Skizz doing a Cubfan impression:

  13. They are retexture sticks, Xisuma talks about it in this video, starting at 6:56.

  14. Twitch only keeps about 2 months of VODs, as far as I can tell.

  15. Generally, that's the MiniHud mod. I'm 95% sure that's the one Impulse and the rest of the hermits are using.

  16. I once got banned from Cleo's stream for suggesting Baldur's Gate 3 was based on a true story. Could be just a coincidence but I think their Mods may be a little quick on the trigger.

  17. Gotta be quick, have you seen how fast that chat can move?

  18. as the file name "icon.png" suggests, it's the icon that shows up in the world selection list in Minecraft.

  19. Impulse's door is triggered by a calibrated skulk sensor that is set up to detect level 5: Dismounting a mob or equipping a piece of gear.

  20. Always funny when you learn you could’ve potentially had one of your favorite YouTubers as a teacher if things were just a little different.

  21. Cleo has related a story of a student telling her about Mumbo, it's rather entertaining.

  22. False actually talked about this in a recent BBC interview:

  23. This came up a shortly after the season started, rather than repeat that, see the responses here:

  24. I'm pretty sure Jessassin hasn't been on the active Hermit list since Season 6, and somewhere after that, either in Season 6 or 7,

  25. Xisuma has retextured some items, probably either iron nuggets or sticks, to have the barrier block texture. He uses them in his ender chest shulker box storage to indicate that nothing is currently going in those slots, and to allow him to shift items into the chest without them going into the wrong slots.

  26. Just for reference, Xisuma talks about it in this video, starting at 6:56.

  27. Also of note, this was at Cleo's previous residence. Since moving, Cleo has now got more space, which is now occupied by a desk.

  28. I'd be curious to hear the rational as to why Proximity Chat ruined Hermitcraft. It has changed how the Hermits play.

  29. There's a pinned post from Xisuma in this sub saying what mods they're using.

  30. The armor poser pack is no longer being updated on Vanilla Tweaks, the one there will continue to be an older version. As noted below the currently updating version is on Curseforge.
