  1. I completely believe that Anna was talking to herself and had some sort of mental illness that had made her obsessed with the idea of disability since childhood and fetishised Derrick's own disability. Question though - did Derrick ever complete any schooling? How was he able to string any sentences together, let alone type eloquent prose? I know Anna says his spelling wasn't great and he had just 'absorbed' knowledge, but as someone who teaches English, basic grammar rules take an excruciatingly long time to teach so how was he suddenly able to go from non-verbal to this?

  2. One thing I don’t understand is the lady Sheronda who facilitated him to write an essay on the book in his class. She said she never read this book so all the words were his, but then she said his essay was similar to her roommate’s words who had read this book. Is the insinuation that Sheronda maybe spoke or read her roommates words on the book & subconsciously made Derrick write similar or is she saying she made the comparisons afterwards? This wasn’t made clear at all…

  3. I read that Sheronda actually had experience in FC before, and that her room mate was writing very similar essays. I believe that again, the words she were believing were his were really hers, subconsciously taking words from her roomate's essays.

  4. It was horrifying to watch the amount of people in the documentary who genuinely didn't believe Anna was a predator. Regardless of the entire FC debate, which has been clearly debunked, she was an able bodied adult who was claiming that a disabled man with no ability to walk or talk for himself had 'seduced' her. The power dynamic would be awful enough without adding in that she was his teacher, and meant to care for him. Unfortunately, I believe it all comes down to the idea that people are unable to believe that a white woman would be a sexual predator. The fact this woman was only given 2 years is horrifying, considering Derrick and his family will have to relive this forever.

  5. Honestly it was repulsive how the documentary showed so many people acting as if Anna's actions were in any way justifiable. The worst was Dr Shane arguing that although Derrick had the brain functionality of a 6-12 month old, he doesn't think Anna is a predator?

  6. I have always thought that the whole Tapas 7 story sounds ludicrous..I think whatever happened to Maddie actually happened the night before, and the tapas dinner was set up as a cover up to explain why Maddie and the twins would be left alone.

  7. You asked about the ransom letter. But it appears a lot of the posts are not about the ransom letter.

  8. The note was supposed to misdirect the police so they would search the house thoroughly.

  9. Agreed 100%. I’ve watched it through once and could never rewatch that season because it makes me so angry.

  10. YES! It was so infuriating and horrible to watch! Also the whole thing was giving heavy homophobia towards Denise

  11. I am new and watched seasons 9-11, and now have gone back and watched seasons 1 and onward. I am currently in season 4. While in Palm Springs she Brandi blurts out that she and Carlton made out. Carlton says it was a kiss and Brandi kind of agrees with that and doesn't argue with her.

  12. You're so right! I forgot about the carlton thing - I think Brandi will do/say anything to be controversial and on tv to be honest

  13. I think Luca is just majorly insecure so he doesn't like seeing other men looking chill when the same situation would send him left. It's so embarassing chill out!!
