GrimSeraph

  1. I currently have 6 with spears and three with shield but im planning on buying another box and build 4 spears and then a shield captain with probably a spear as well. Im not sold on the shield yet, in some situations it will be great, against 1 wound infantry it simply superior in every way but im not really sure thats a weaknes we have (dealing with hordes). Three alarrus will do as much or more damage with their grenade launchers. Though there are a lot of scary three damage weapons out there so having one or two in your unit so you can waste a three damage weapon. Say you take two damage on a guaddian spear and then a forgefiend gets 4 wounds through your save you could take one in the spear, two on the shield and then loose one additional one. I think the majority of mine will be spears though.

  2. If you take one on the spear, you're taking the rest on him until he's dead per:

  3. The spear dies from the first shot though, then the second shot deals 3 damage on the shield which has 4 wounds meaning the next 3 damage hit only deals one damage and so on.

  4. Just dispel the disease, it's not that hard, unless you belong back in retail doing LFR

  5. Probably use the mechanic provided then aye? Too hard can't face roll and aoe

  6. My players have already killed Baba far easier than they should have been able to, The Abbot has been given a large buff and now also has some lair actions giving environmental hazards to deal with once in angel form.

  7. What if the demon was indirectly created by the Emperor in his youth, Big-E accidentally killed his sibling(if he had one) like the story of Cain(or was it Kain) potentially being that sibling or manifested from the emotions and soul of that potential sibling

  8. Emps killed his own father with a rock, it's framed in such a way to suggest that was the first murder.

  9. I thought it was his uncle he killed, because the uncle was responsible for his fathers death.

  10. You're right. Drach'nyen wasn't even created by Emps killing the uncle but rather the uncle killing the father.

  11. Why the necromancy? Is there another variant coming that needs some more fearmongering?

  12. Honestly even just that you recognize you broke something he cared about might be enough. I've gotten the "They're just toys anyway why do you care?" before and that's when it turns into anger.

  13. Isn't this just the black legion character?

  14. He's now legion agnostic, so functionally he's a set loadout jumppack lord

  15. Well that's something I guess, shame about my lovely thunderhammer jump lord conversion that gets to stay on the shelf for now

  16. "Manning up" is picking up your metaphorical lasgun and taking up your post at the wall against the untold horrors arrayed against mankind

  17. playing to their audience, never seen a space wolf player that wasn't equally cringe

  18. With the forgeworld options gone there isnt really much choice now is there?

  19. Dont care, only play narrative, GW cant keep me away from my Mastodon, my Fellblade and my big boy dreads.

  20. Based. I did this after 3.5 ed as they took away my basilisk.

  21. I'm still mad about them as well. I need to buy some more

  22. Where would you recommend grabbing a texture palette from? I know Artist Opus is a lot of people's go-to for all things dry-brushing but the pricing is a bit much and I feel a lot of it is due to the name.

  23. Ive used the plastic inserts found in the bottom of reusuable supermarket bags, they have a texture like rough orange peel. not sure if they're available in other countries

  24. How about size? Which loyalist boxnought are nicest size to use?

  25. The Spacewolf Venerable Dread comes with a shield that can be shaved down of any wolfy stuff very easily, It also has a more open stance rather than the usual quite static box dreads.

  26. Mine personally have horned helmets instead, as well as the odd exposed arm and haphazardly repaired armor.

  27. You could get one of the dozens of loyalist captain/lieutenant models and chaos-ify it a bit. Or start with a tech marine, give it chaos head and arms, and you've got a classic warsmith look.

  28. I've personally used Abaddon, Feirros, Tor Garadon, Agatone? (the salamanders primaris guy), the new Gravis Captain, the Primaris Chaplain and the Judiciar.

  29. True but Forgeworld is bloody expensive and takes forever

  30. A contemptor dreadnought is also about the same size. Im unsure about the plastic kit but leaving off some armor plates might give it a more bionic look.

  31. It's been in pork since early 2000s and Beef/Lamb shortly after that.

  32. Suggestion for the future if you really want to use a mutated unit, but don't want to ruin the flavor of your army:

  33. My possessed are still in their Imperial Fists Yellow, it fits the whole vibe rather well

  34. It's not a big deal. Codex Astartes has a lot of different examples of rank insignia, tactical purpose etc., and the signifying armor colors are just another part of the same. (Canonically, the Codex even encourages chapters to change these every now and then, to make things more difficult for enemy to figure out.)

  35. Mephiston has no blue on him and he’s head of the Blood Angles Librarius. Similarly Njal and other Rune Priests are depicted in the normal Space Wolf colours.

  36. 3 of them with flamers filled with 10x possessed each is pretty funny.

  37. They aren't redeemed they are tricked into following a false path. The Unforgiven are such sops they lost their shit seeing a fake Caliban and went straight into a trap, they knew was a trap.

  38. He "rivals" primarchs in the same way as Erebus and Kor'Phaeron though, and while he might have been Calibans best, he still cant compete with that golden warp jizz

  39. I know the bade size is the main thing in the game, but for storage or transportation, etc, I find the general height to be relevant. Particularly for characters.

  40. generally for infantry models that dont hang over their bases much just double the base size for height.

  41. Yeah, the Primarchs and for instance. The new Lion model in particular. 😀

  42. Well stuff I have on hand, Abaddon is on a 60mm base, his socket in my case is W60mmxD60mmxH90mm

  43. “The only limitation seems to be that an Obliterator is unable to create an explosive item that separates from their body, like a grenade. Those who study these creatures believe that their weapons are inherently part of their physiology -- they could no more create a thrown explosive any more than a mortal man could eject his own heart from his chest.”

  44. Yet both the older models and the newer ones feature projectile weapons. Classic GW

  45. I hope they don't give him wings, it doesn't really fit.

  46. He needs shoulder mounted Earthshaker Cannons at the minimum
